Immobiliser fitting

Across Birmingham & Staffordshire. Stop the engine starting without your say-so. We fit three, from £380 to £499, a hidden PIN sequence or a driver ID tag, none of them a fob a thief can clone.

PIN, or tag?

An immobiliser's job is simple: stop the engine running unless the right person is behind the wheel. How it checks who you are is what separates the three we fit. Scorpion X and the Autowatch Ghost use a PIN sequence, a short code entered on buttons already in your car, with no fob or tag involved at all. Auto Blok uses a small driver ID tag instead, so there's nothing to type, just something to carry.

The distinction matters most if your car has keyless entry. A relay attack works by capturing and copying a fob's signal, it has nothing to grab from a PIN system, since there's no signal being sent in the first place. A tag-based system is a step up from a standard alarm too, just via a different mechanism. All three are fitted CAN bus style, so nothing gets cut or spliced and your manufacturer warranty stays intact.

Immobiliser questions

Do I need an immobiliser if I already have a tracker?

They do different jobs. An immobiliser stops the car starting without authorisation, prevention. A tracker helps you find it if it's taken another way, recovery. Neither replaces the other; many owners run both.

Will fitting one affect my warranty?

No, all three are CAN bus fitted, meaning we connect into your car's existing data network rather than cutting or splicing any factory wiring.

Which one should I choose?

If your car has keyless entry, a PIN system (Scorpion X or Ghost) is the more direct defence against relay theft. If it doesn't, or you'd rather not remember a code, Auto Blok is a straightforward, lower-cost option. Not sure? Use the quiz on our homepage, or just tell us your vehicle when you enquire.
