How it actually stops a thief

Scorpion X is a CAN bus immobiliser, it sits invisibly on your car's own internal data network rather than adding any external box, fob, or transmitter. Every time you turn the ignition off, it arms itself automatically. To start the car again, you enter a short PIN sequence using buttons already built into your dashboard or steering wheel, the same volume, mode, or menu buttons you already use.

That's what makes it different from a standard alarm or a tag-based system. A relay attack works by capturing and copying the signal from a key fob. Scorpion X has no fob signal to capture, there's simply nothing to relay. Even if a thief gets the doors open and the ignition turns over, the engine won't run without the correct sequence, entered by hand.

It's built specifically with this threat in mind: Scorpion Automotive designed the X-Series around defeating exactly the key relay and cloning techniques that account for the majority of UK car theft now. Manufacturer, over 50 years in vehicle security.

What's included

No fob or tag

Nothing to clone, lose, or leave in the car. The PIN is the only key, and only you know it.

Warranty unaffected

CAN bus fitting doesn't cut or splice factory wiring, so your manufacturer warranty stays intact.

Transferable

Change cars later, and the unit can move with you to your next vehicle rather than being a sunk cost.

Questions about Scorpion X

Is Scorpion X as good as a Ghost immobiliser?

Both use the same core principle, a PIN entered on existing buttons, no fob or tag, CAN bus fitted. Ghost is the more widely recognised name in the industry; Scorpion X does the same job at a lower price. Neither is "better" in terms of stopping relay theft, they work the same way.

Is it Thatcham approved?

No, Scorpion X is TASSA-registered rather than Thatcham categorised, the same as Ghost and Auto Blok. If your insurer specifically requires a Thatcham-approved tracker, that's what our Meta Trak S5 or Deadlock provide. Check your policy's exact wording.

Can I set my own PIN?

Yes, set during fitting, and changeable by you afterwards whenever you like.
